  Home » Equipment Service

Don't trust your life to just anyone. Annual maintenance and proper care of your equipment is what gives you the confidence to depend on your gear. You need to trust that it's going to function properly and you need to trust who's servicing it.

Burton's Dive Service has the experience, background and knowledge to keep your equipment in top shape. If we can't fix it, we will tell you so. We are also very up front about the fact that if we don't sell the product, we cannot complete warranty work. We will however try to help you find someone who can service your equipment, if we cannot.

At Burton's, our after sales service is as important as the sale itself. Any equipment purchased at Burton's comes with a service commitment which includes a "preferred service rate" that will reduce the cost of your annual service on all your equipment.

Equipment Labour Fees:(Approximate cost. Taxes extra. Only a partial list.)

  • Hydro Test - $24 (does not include VIP or fill)
  • VIP - $22 includes air fill ($27 for Nitrox/O2 VIP, fill not included)
  • Tank valve overhaul - $10 labour plus parts (single valve, base rate)
  • Regulator Overhaul - $75 for 1st stage, 2nd stage, octo and gauges. (ultrasonic cleaning extra if required)
  • BC Inflator Servicing - $10 labour plus parts
  • Air Fill - $6.64 average per tank

"Burton's Dive Service will not fill any cylinder that does not have a current visual inspection decal (within the last year) from a recognized facility or inspector."

As of July 31st 2007 we will no longer accept generic VIP decals from any agency. There must be some indication that allows us to trace back the cylinder to whomever last inspected it before we fill it. (ie: store name, inspector number etc.) We will also continue to service and fill 6351 alloy aluminum cylinders and will be using the Visual Plus 3 device when we do inspections on these cylinders. Many shops will not fill or service these cylinders, some will only fill them if they have done the inspections.

The following is a list of cylinders made of 6351 Alloy: (list may not be complete)
