Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) Diver
This Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) program provides the diver with the information necessary to utilize EAN (nitrox) as a breathing medium. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to utilize EAN in open water diving without direct supervision.
The following topics are to be covered: history of nitrox as a breathing gas, Dalton's law of partial pressures, physiology of oxygen and nitrogen, depth limits, advantages, disadvantages and risks of nitrox, oxygen toxicity, hazards and precautions of handling oxygen, the concept of Equivalent Air Depth, use of EAN with standard Air Dive Tables, common gas mixing procedures and gas analyzing procedures.
There are two certification levels available; Enriched Air Nitrox (classroom only) and Enriched Air Nitrox Diver (classroom and diving). This program may be taught as classroom only (no open water dives) and may then be changed to Enriched Air Nitrox Diver upon completion (within 6 months) of the 2 open water dives under supervision of a NAUI Nitrox Instructor.

Prerequisites:
- minimum age of 15
- certification as NAUI Scuba Diver or equivalent
