Service FAQ
Why should I have my equipment serviced?
All scuba equipment should be inspected or serviced regularly to ensure that it is in safe working order. Having clean and properly adjusted equipment can greatly reduce the chances of something malfunctioning, which also increases your safety.
How often should I have my equipment serviced?
There are many factors affecting service frequency (eg. how much use, storage habits, diving environment, UV exposure) but generally speaking, most scuba gear should be inspected at least annually and serviced if required. Some warranties require a specific service interval, and cylinders must have a hydrostatic test within the last 5 years if you wish to use them and usually a Visual Inspection within the last year.
How much will it cost?
This all depends on what is being serviced. Our labour prices are listed on the Service Prices page. Parts can range greatly but often that can be minimized by maintaining a "free parts warranty" that is offered by many regulator manufacturers when you purchase new equipment. Be sure to read the details of this warranty however. We will provide a written price estimate for service when equipment is dropped off to us.
How long will it take?
Depending on the current workload and parts supply, most equipment will normally be serviced within 1 to 4 weeks. Some items like cylinder VIP or computer batter change can usually be completed in 24hrs. A time estimate is given when equipment is dropped off to us. All equipment is serviced on a first come, first served basis but rush service is available for a small additional fee.
