Training Assistant

Looking for new challenges in diving? Are you the one that is always around sharing your great dive stories? Are you always lending a hand on dive sites? Do you enjoy taking that less experienced diver on his or her first tour of a dive site that you love? Do you feel great when they finish the dive with that "I loved this dive" twinkle in their eye? You are probably a good candidate for leadership. If you want to see what it is like then the NAUI Training Assistant Specialty course is right for you.

This course qualifies divers in the skills and knowledge necessary to perform as a training assistant during diver training sessions under the supervision of a NAUI Instructor. This course enhances the general skills and abilities of qualified divers and is not a NAUI Leadership course.

Training Assistants are qualified to temporarily directly supervise remaining students while an instructor conducts skills with other students, escort no more than 2 students on surface/underwater tours and to assist NAUI Instructors with other tasks which enhance the safety of students or improve efficiency of diver training.

Prerequisites:

• minimum age of 18
• certification as NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver and NAUI Scuba Rescue Diver or equivalents
• current certification in First Aid and CPR
